La Golondrina Restaurant is the traditional name of our restaurant. The name La Golondrina was given to a trader named Julio Gomez in 1896 who built a trading post at this site in Cabo San Lucas, rumored to have been a Mission. Senor Gomez unknowingly created a bit of history. He returned faithfully from mainland Mexico to stock his trading post at the same time that the swallows returned to the Mission San Juan Capistrano each year from their winter 6,000 miles south in Argentina.

This earned him the nickname La Golondrina and became the name of this, the oldest building in Cabo San Lucas, starting a tradition with us her more than 100 years later.
